Below is our detailed Terms of Service at the Nigeria Celebrates (NG@65) platform. It is structured to align with best practices for national-scale digital initiatives while ensuring clarity, legality, and inclusivity for users across various demographics, age groups, and countries.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”, “TOS”) govern your use of the website and associated services (collectively, the “Platform”).
By using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and any other guidelines or policies referenced herein. Please read them carefully before using any part of the platform.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Nigeria Celebrates (NG@65) in any capacity, whether as a participant, content contributor, voter, viewer, creator, judge, or visitor, you:

Promote Nigeria’s cultural and creative excellence across categories such as spoken word, photography, video content, design, etc.
Recognize and reward outstanding participants and contributors

3. User Categories & Eligibility
The platform caters to multiple user personas:
General Public: Viewers, voters, commenters, and readers
Participants/Creators: Those submitting entries for competitions or storytelling
Youth Contributors: 13–17 years with parental consent
Judges and Moderators: Official reviewers and content curators
Diaspora Nigerians: Participants and audience members from outside Nigeria
To participate in contests or quizzes with rewards, you must:
Register with a valid email address and/or phone number
Be a Nigerian citizen or of Nigerian descent
Comply with all entry guidelines and age requirements
4. Account Registration and Security
Some features of the Platform require account creation. When registering:
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information

You are responsible for all activities under your account
We reserve the right to suspend or delete accounts that:

User-Generated Content
As a contributor, you retain full ownership of your content (creative entries, videos, text, images). However, by submitting content, you grant Nigeria Celebrates:
A royalty-free, worldwide, non-exclusive, transferable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, distribute, and display your content across any medium or platform (including TV, radio, print, and digital) for promotional, celebratory, or archival purposes.
Permission to showcase your content during or after the NG@65 campaign.
This license includes:
Displaying winning content on government or partner platforms
Broadcasting during live or recorded segments
Using content for future historical or educational materials
You confirm that:
You own the rights to your submission or have appropriate permissions
Your content does not infringe any third-party copyrights, trademarks, or rights
6. Community Guidelines and Code of Conduct
To maintain a safe and inclusive environment, users agree not to:
Post or submit defamatory, offensive, or obscene content
Promote hate speech, violence, tribalism, or discrimination
Engage in plagiarism, vote-rigging, cheating, or impersonation
Share false information, malware, or unsolicited promotions
Violations may result in:
Immediate account suspension or removal
Disqualification from contests or rewards
Reporting to legal authorities if necessary
We reserve the right to moderate, edit, or remove any content or account at our sole discretion.
7. Voting Rules and Integrity
Voting is central to the Creative Entries module. To ensure fair participation:
Each user can only vote once per entry within a designated time frame
Automated voting (bots, scripts, etc.) is strictly prohibited
Votes may be subject to moderation, flagging, or audits
Voting is free and does not involve payment
The Platform may reset or nullify votes if abuse is detected.
8. Rewards, Recognition, and Disbursement
Winners from competitions or challenges will:
Be announced on the platform and relevant partner pages
Receive digital or physical prizes, subject to availability, eligibility verification, and accompanying terms and conditions.
To receive a reward, you may need to:
Provide a valid government-issued ID
Sign a declaration of originality
Agree to a short promotional interview or media showcase

9. Intellectual Property and Branding
All content, design, logos, copy, icons, and media provided by the Platform remain the property of:

Federal Ministry of Arts, Culture and the Creative Economy, or other official partners
You may not use our intellectual property without explicit written permission, including:
Logos and badges
Platform names or slogans
UI/UX layouts or original designs
10. Availability, Access & Limitations
We strive for 24/7 availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access due to:
Maintenance or upgrades
Third-party service outages
National emergencies or natural disruptions
Users are responsible for securing their own internet access. We are not liable for data costs, accessibility issues, or delays in streaming or downloads, especially in rural or remote areas.
11. Termination & Suspension of Service
We reserve the right to:
Suspend, disable, or permanently delete any account that violates these Terms
Remove content deemed inappropriate or in breach of our code of conduct
Suspend or discontinue certain features or the entire platform at any time

Escalated to the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), National Data Protection Bureau (NDPB), or appropriate mediatory bodies
Finally resolved by competent courts in Nigeria, if unresolved
